I made this journal with a thin, brandy-brown cowhide. It has a soft sided, wrap-around design with a leather strap to protect the pages. I used Irish linen thread to create a medieval style binding with exposed stitching on outer spine.
The pages are blank, except for the first page,which has the above quote and a reproduction of a 19th century painting by Claude Monet. I hope this quote and picture will inspire you in your writing/sketching. :)
The open book lays flat, making it easy to use. High quality 50 lb sketch paper, acid free and archival. Pages are hand-torn for old-world feeling. Perfect for writing, drawing with pencil, pen, charcoal and pastel. Paper works well for calligraphy, and for writing with a fountain pen.
