Steampunk Wire Woven Necklace with Trapped Stone

Description

This is a lovely one of a kind necklace made with the ancient technique of Norse wire weaving (also known as Viking knit). The wire is copper, and it is woven around a rusty-brown colored polished stone in the middle of the chain to make a pendant that's completely integrated with the chain.

Wire-wrapped stone and bead pendants are pretty pervasive, but nowhere else will you find a pendant like this that's actually a part of the chain. I came up with the design and perfected the technique myself. It's a truly unique piece of jewelry. The colors of the copper and brown stone together reminded me of the steampunk aesthetic.

The necklace is 17" long, excluding the clasp.
