As you may have gathered if you’ve been shopping here, I love handmade elements, ethnic art, craftsmanship that produces one-of-a-kind items even when the pattern or design is the same, and vintage pieces using time-consuming processes requiring mostly-forgotten skills.

So I was delighted recently to stumble on some new suppliers, one with fabulous stones carved into pendants so gorgeous I want to keep them all (though some are listed both here and at Findings), another with equally stunning flowers in both stone and glass, and the third handling, among other things, the lovely faceted purple quartz briolettes I've used in these earrings.

Ah yes, these earrings. They shine. They glitter. They sparkle. They make me smile. They are about 2" long from the top of the circular earvire to the bottom point of the briolette. About 1" of that is the crystal and its silver beadcap. Each briolette is topped by two little Czech glass drop beads which pick up sun colors and complement them beautifully--check out the pictures. They're not weightless, but they're lighter than the lapis I just listed and are nicely balanced. I hope they'll go to someone who'll smile evey time she puts them on or sees herself in a mirror or window while wearing them.
