Organic Earrings 0-02

Description

These are a pair earrings whose design became the starting point for an ongoing series of work, testing new materials and techniques as variations to a common theme. The forms are cut and hammered by hand into naturalistic organic shapes. This process, referred to as shell forming or anticlastic raising, allows the use of quite thin sheet metal for reduced weight while producing surprisingly resilient forms. The brass is selectively heated for coloration and torch-fired enamel beads are suspended from the silver stems.
