My jewelry is designed using sea glass, or beach glass as it is sometimes called, that I found on the shores of Lake Erie. Glass bottles, containers, dishware, etc. were either thrown into the lakes on purpose, or they were part of cargoes of the thousands of sunken ships that met their demise on the treacherous waters of the of the lakes. After decades of being in the harsh aquatic environment the forces of nature transformed the glass shards into beautiful gem-like pieces of “sea glass” which wash ashore, with their once sharp edges worn smooth and the shiny glass surface taking on a soft patina.
