Royal Math Gnomes

Description

I am pleased to present a set of 5 hand-stitched Waldorf-inspired royal math gnomes. These royal math gnomes would be glad to take their respective roles in number-related stories or provide quiet encouragement during your studies.

Each royal math gnome has a distinct personality. King Addition dressed in green is fond of collecting jewels, bottle-caps and other treasures. Queen Subtraction dressed in blue is driven to share the great wealth of her kingdom. Prince Multiplication dressed in yellow is cheerfully impatient likes to get things done really fast. Princess Division dressed in pink is passionate about justice and wants to make sure that everyone gets his or her fair share. The Equals Wizard dressed in purple offers wise counsel to all four processes and helps to keep their particular interests balanced and harmonious. Each gnome is elaborately embroidered with a variety of my favorite stitches and is signed in thread at the base with my signature “A”.

The five gnomes are made of hand-dyed wool felt, wool batting, cotton embroidery thread and cotton interlock. They all stand approximately 3 inches tall from crown to base, except for the Equals wizard, who stands a little over 3 1/2 inches tall from the cone-shaped hat to the base. Their faces are embroidered simply in the Waldorf tradition to encourage open creativity. They are meant for display and storytelling, and should be kept out of reach from pets and children who still put toys in their mouths (small parts can be a choking hazard).

This set might be a good graduation gift for the teen who fondly remembers math gnomes from childhood or as a present for successfully dealing with standardized tests.
