St Julien Of Antioch - Pendant/Wall Hanging
Description
Made from a vintage ceramic doll's body, bronze from a cracked "Paiste" cymbal, silver, printed steel from a tobacco tin, a 1950s glass cabochon, antique pen-nibs, copper chain and a brass stamping.The piece can be worn as a pendant - there is a bail on the back for a chain - but while robust enough, the pen-nibs and ceramic element make this a piece for occasional wear, hence the alternate listing as a "wall hanging".
As the pendant is made entirely from recycled material, I cannot give any guide to the composition of the metals used. It is therefore possibly not suitable for people with metal allergies.
Other information:
The pen-nibs are from an Edwardian box of 100, made for the Bank of England;
The ceramic doll's body was found in a junk-shop in Brighton;
The "St Julien" is from a tobacco box in my workshop which used to hold lathe tools;
The glass cabochon and brass-stamping came from an abandoned jewellery factory in Birmingham.
