Elsa the Scap had a way with the surreal, and I have been influenced by the sheer audacity of her stunning designs.These flirtatious little "toy" chapeau came into vogue after the famed 1939 movie, THE WOMEN, with those hats created by the master, Gilbert Adrien...they were not meant for the ingenue, but the sultry, sassy woman of mystery.

I have created this one, again, from components that all date from the 1930s and 1940s, including a deadstock original hat base, then added felt flowers, trims, and topped with softest ostrich feathers....should be worn low on the forehead, the better able to peek out from under...
