Gold Plate Orchid Pin Blank
Description
This pin was purchased by my parents from a jewelry/lapidary supplier over 30 years ago. This is a cattleya orchid. It looks like 12 or 14k gold plate over copper or brass. It is very light weight and the metal is soft enough so that the petals, sepals, and lip can be shaped. It was made for inserting a cabachon or other bead inside the lip (the frilly appendage in front).It is approximately 50 mm tall and 47 mm wide.
