Made to order...French butter keeper

This piece will be made to order. Please allow 6-8 weeks for the making of your butter keeper.

Wheel-thrown stoneware butter keeper in a blueberry glaze. The lid is decorated with a sea urchin design. 4" wide x 4 1/2" tall. Food & dishwasher safe.

This pot is based on a traditional European design. No refrigeration is required, and your butter stays soft and easy to spread. Cold butter is packed into the top of the keeper, and 1 to 1 1/2" of water is placed in the bottom. When the top and bottom are put together, the water forms a seal and keeps the butter fresh. The butter keeper can be brought to the table, and the top turned over to serve.
