The Wheel of the Year - Mabon, original watercolor print

Description

Mabon takes place on or near the Autumn Equinox, and is considered the second harvest. As with Ostara, this is a time of balance, when the light and dark are equal. This is a time for seeking balance and peace with ourselves by letting go of old regrets and arguments, and finding forgiveness for others as well as ourselves. It is a time for healing and reflection. Many give offerings to the Trees of Cider or Mead. The Goddess moves into her Crone aspect and the God, representative of the Sun and the grains, symbolically dies and awaits rebirth in the Spring.

In this painting, the Spiral Dancer settles down for the long darkness to come. Her branches are bare but in her lap is the overflowing abundance of the harvest, for which she is grateful. She is grounded, quite literally, with her roots deep within the earth. Their strong life energy remains, although hidden from sight.

She is part of the Spiral Dance Collection which portrays the goddesses as a mix of human features and expressions of energy, which flow out from their hands and feet as spirals but can also be expressed through other elements associated with them. She is faceless so that each individual can imagine the features that they need to see in order to have a personal connection with her.

Each print will be signed and dated by the artist and shipped in a protective sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailer.
