"Hemingway" - A Mid-Century Inspired Functional Art Quilt:

This piece was inspired by stones, shells and Ernest Hemingway. The stones and shells, gathered on a recent visit to the sea side, were a visual influence for my color and pattern choices, (see last photo) where as Hemingway provided the muse for creating a piece with a masculine feel... I wanted something that would look at home in a study, draped over an old and well used wooden table that had been oiled to a deep, rich shine.

The lines are clean and simple, and the piece works both as a beautiful, functional table runner, and as a beautiful piece of art to hang.

"Hemingway" measures 12" x 42" and has been throughly machine quilted. A hanging sleeve is attached to the back should you wish to hang it as an art quilt.

Made of 100% cotton materials, this piece has been machine washed as a final step in its construction. Washing serves to both soften the quilt and bring out its lovely texture. Care is easy... simply shake, or go over it with a lint roller to keep clean. Should you ever need to wash it, simply hand wash, or machine wash, in cold water on the gently cycle. Reshape and lay flat to dry.
