Kidsilk Guenevere Shawl

Description

An ethereal shawl, featured in Interweave Press' "Wrap Style". The unusual shape allows you to wear it many different ways. I used a lace yarn, Douceur et Soie, which is a blend of 65% kid mohair and 35% silk. It's incredibly soft, warm, yet light as a feather. The entire shawl weighs only about 1 1/2 ounces!

Wear this shawl over a blouse to the office on a cool day as an alternative to a sweater. Or, wear it over a silk camisole or bustier for a very romantic, provocative look. The sheer fabric will reveal your shoulders while keeping them warm.

The lace pattern of this shawl is understated. A few columns of eyelets separate the sections of the body, and a froth of lace creates a gently ruffled border.

The color is a brilliant violet. This shawl is best suited for sizes S/M. It is about 22" long, and is about 24" wide at the neck and about 7 1/2 feet wide (90") at the lower edge of the ruffle.

To care for this shawl - the material is delicate, yet strong. If you cherish your shawl, it will delight you for years. Hand wash it gently in cold water, using Woolite, Euculan or another very mild soap. Do not harshly agitate it - instead soak it and gently rub it. Do not wring dry. Instead, after rinsing, gently squeeze out excess water, roll it in a towel, then block it dry. If you need directions for blocking, contact me.
