This small abstreact painting is one of a new series of small abstracts on paper, as essences or distillations of landscape, experimental colourway studies on paper. I find colour inspiration in the rural environment, in the elemental signs of erosion, decay or gradual deterioration, crumbling walls, encrusted patinas on boats, eroded waterlines and textural striations, structures exposed to the natural elements.
