Before I moved to California, I only knew of poppies from the Wizard of Oz, those bright red, papery flowers. Imagine my surprise when I figured out that, every spring here in the Bay Area, beautiful, velvety orange poppies cover large areas of plain ground! I tried to capture a beautiful, perfect poppy in this image. Copyright mark will not appear in actual print.

Printed on Kodak Professional Endura Supra Matte paper, in an 8x10 inch size. Long dimension in horizontal direction. Minimal cropping from original digital image.
