This beautiful handmade playsilk was hand-dyed in beautiful ocean-inspired colors of blues and greens.

People who have never given silk to children sometimes ask me, do your children (I have six) really play with these? Does your baby really respond to these? So I've started including some photos with my products of actual children having actual fun with the silks that I make. Pictured here with our ocean magic playsilk is Rosalie Sophia, four months old. This silk was the first toy she ever reached for after it was pulled away from her! (In the photos is Rosalie's silk; yours, of course, will be brand new and never played with!)

Measuring 35 by 108 inches, this size is perfect for all sorts of imaginative play. A basket of play silks in the corner of the room is the perfect toy and can provide hours of open-ended play for all ages. They are perfect for dancing and twirling, building forts, creating stages and backdrops for puppets, tying on as capes or fairy skirts or other dress-up items and other dramatic play. The soft feel of silk is excellent for developing babies, providing a wonderful sensory experience as they grab the fabric and focus on the colors. They are great for "peek-a-boo" and other games for older babies. And they make the perfect soft, lightweight and comforting covering for sleeping little ones.
