Mini Jester or Circus Clown Suncatcher

Liven up the view from your window all year long with this charming patchwork suncatcher of a circus clown from the Victorian period.

Made from a century old German Magic Lantern slide originally intended to entertain children before the age of TV, I've framed this slide fragment in a wild patchwork of crazy-quilt like bright colored glass. I intentionally did not square off this piece in order to add to its whimsy. You will see in the photos that the glass is pieced together from teeny-tiny, time consuming glass fragments. I soldered all the glass together in a wonky, crazy-quilt like fashion--something this little jester compelled me to do!

This miniature piece measures approximately 2" tall x 1.5" wide and comes with a clear silicon suction cup hook so you can hang it right in your window.

All the stained glass work and soldering has been done by me in my in-house studio. Although this piece is especially lively when illuminated by the sun, the vibrant colors allow it to stand out even on a wall. This really will be a beautiful tiny jewel glimmering in your window.
