merino/silk handwoven scarf
Description
This scarf was designed and woven by me, the Ozweaver. It drapes well due to the fine merino wool and silk fibers of the yarn (50/50 blend). The colors are black and two shades of teal (medium and dark) which creates visual interest. The size is 53" long by 10" wide, not including the 2" fringe at each end which was hemstitched by hand. This scarf works well for either a man or a woman.The weave structure of this scarf is a complex twill that I call "shafts of wheat," and it requires a multi-harness loom and some weaving expertise. I have been weaving for over 30 years now and still get a thrill from the endless possibilities of weave structure and color.
