VERY UNUSUAL Victorian Mother-of-Pearl, Rhinestone and Pansy Design Butterfly Brooch ca 1900

ETSY HOLIDAY SALE!This is a very unusual piece, which is believed to be late Victorian, ca 1900. It appears to be brass painted over on the back with silver paint. It is a butterfly shape with a pansy in the middle of the "wings," and a rhinestone in the very center. The brass base upon which the Mother-of-Pearl and the pansy are overlaid has a distinct design which can be seen at the base of the "wings."
The pin is 1 1/4" wide between the tips of the wings and approximately 7/8" high. This piece is believed to be 1940s-vintage. It has a pinback which is in good condition.
The pin has an interesting look to it, and the Mother-of-Pearl is in perfect condition.
