Bottle Teapot in Slate Blue (b)

Description

This is a whimsical cermaic teapot handmade by Janis Hughes. The bottle form and lid were thrown on the potter's wheel, and the spout and curly-q were hand formed and attached when the clay was 'leather hard'.

This teapot is an art piece and is not for functional use. It will make a unique and beautiful addition to a teapot collection or a lively accent to decorate your kitchen counter, mantel, or hutch.

The clay body is a smooth, white stoneware from North Carolina. I have glazed it in a semi-matte slate blue with a good deal of natural variation which highlights the grooves and contours of the form quite nicely. The materials used are lead free and harmless.

All of my pieces are individually made by hand without molds, so each is one of a kind.

This bottle teapot measures approximately 6.25" H x 3.5" W x 2.75" D and holds about 8oz.
