Quirky Triple Porcelain Vase and Candleholder
Description
I was just having fun with the porcelain when I created this piece. I used the form of a daylily seed pod as the basis for the the 3 tiny vases. I gave each vase a teeny tiny lid and then united them all with a candleholder in the middle. The creamy porcelain is decorated with a coral-pink and chartreuse, and accented with a touch of red. There are 3 curls of chartreuse colored porcelain between the vase parts.I don't think you really need to put anything inside this vessel to enjoy it, but there is always that possibility! The flowers you choose will have to be diminutive, and you can sprinkle the lids around to accent the arrangement.
This one of a kind creation is 2 inches tall and about 3 inches across. It makes me think of something you might find in the forest near a mossy rock.
The last photo shows this piece on my Porcelain Lily Pad Plate, which is listed separately.
My studio overlooks my large perennial and annual garden, and the botanical influence is strong in my work. The color is painted with underglaze colors and fired to over 2200ยบ F in one of my electric kilns.
My work has been shown at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, and is in the Corning Glassworks Executive Club collection, as well as in private collections across the country and abroad.
