Description

Coptic bound books are both unique and functional. Because the process requires no adhesive to be applied to the spine, it allows the book to open up to 360 degrees without risking damage to the spine and pages. The ability to open the books completely flat make these ideal for sketchbooks and journals.

In this 7 page ebook tutorial I will walk you through the process of how to create your own hardback journal using the Coptic binding method. This contains step-by-step instructions for the making of covers, creating signatures and binding using a simple chain stitch. The tutorial describes the process for a 5x7 inch hardback journal, although you can adjust the measurements to suit your project.

The tutorial file is created in Adobe Illustrator with written instructions and simple illustrations, both created by me. The file will be emailed to you as a pdf file for you to view and print for your own use. These are non-editable files that are copyright protected. Please respect my copyrights and do not purchase with the intention of selling or reproducing this tutorial.
