standard size ashiko from scavenged cedar

This ashiko is made cedar we scavanged. Dimensions are; 24" tall, 10" across on the head. It has 14 staves that we cut, glue, rout, file, sand sand sand, and varnish. The rings used to head the drum are 1/4" steel we roll and weld ourselves. The rope is high quality nylon core with very little stretch that is usually found on sailboats. We use goatskin for the head as it lasts long and stays in tune really well. This is our standard size ashiko and has the widest range of tone from deep bass to high end. All our drums are great for beginner up through studio quality playing. A tuning and care sheet goes out with every drum and please don't hesitate to e-mail or call with any other questions. We have been making drums about ten years, love what we do and just want to spread the music.
