Containing the Past II - Original Mixed Media

These latest pieces are inspired by my reminiscence work with older people with dementia. The pieces of ourselves that remain no matter how we are percieved by other people. Also the memories and parts of our individual story that we can either choose to reveal or hide.

This piece incorporates hand made textured paper,layered imagery and an original pencil drawing with oilbars for a wonderful texture. Layered and sculpted with machine embroidery, aged and with loose threads left hanging.

Unframed piece is 5 x 5.5 inches (13 x 14cm) float-mounted onto board which measures 9 inches square (23x 23cm) and looks perfect in an Ikea Ribba box frame to preserve the layered 3d quality (as seen in image #3 - frame not included)

The piece will be mailed unframed and packaged to maintain the layers.
