Description

This is a special edition book, as I do not make many of these with the lock embellishment. It would make a lovely wedding guestbook or album - a memorable gift for yourself or that special someone.

The book measures 7½" wide x 9" high and over 1" thick.

The leather cover is a rugged honey brown full grain cowhide. It has a wrap-around flap utilizing the raw edge of the hide, for a unique rugged look. It has a handy metal stud closure which keeps the book closed and protects the pages within. A non-functioning antiqued brass "lock" embellishment has been used in the journal's closure, as the stud peaks through the keyhole, keeping the journal closed.

It boasts a generous 320 pages (both sides) of 50lb. high quality ivory Canson drawing paper, which has been handtorn to size for a lovely deckled edge. The paper is archival and acid-free and is excellent for any dry media, and fountain pen won't bleed through. The book lays flat when open.

The page sections have been hand-stitched to the leather cover with natural beeswaxed Irish linen thread, which is attractively visible on the spine; it's a very sturdy binding dating back to medieval times.

Each book comes with a little "card of interest" containing information about your book (the history of the binding, the type of stitch) - which makes a lovely addition as a gift.
