Inspired by the beautiful burgundy wine-hued corduroy from which they are made - I am pleased to present a flock of California Wine Country Hoot Owls.


Rutherford loves the Wine Country of California. He knows a thing or two about grape growing and considers himself a Vintner's best friend as he sits perched above the vineyards ready to swoop down upon anything that may threaten the crops. He also loves to hang out in the shady spots where the wine lovers picnic. Rutherford hoots a sweet song making their visit all the more special.

Rutherford the Hoot Owl lives a colorful and unique sort of life - he's one lucky bird & he knows it!


This plush owl is as cute as he is unique. His endearing face was hand embroidered onto the softest natural material. Rutherford the "Wine Country Hoot Owl" was created from a combination of plaid purple & lavender wool suiting fabric, burgundy corduroy and a gorgeous lavender wool sweater that was felted and repurposed into new life. Not only is Rutherford as cuddly as can be, he "gives a Hoot" about the environment.

On Rutherford's back, you will find a charming pocket just large enough to hold tooth fairy coins, a wee love note, lucky penny or small scroll of positive affirmations. Your Hoot Owl will come with a pocket-sized envelope/note card - perfect for gift giving!

All fabric was pre-washed and thoughtfully stitched together in a smoke-free home. This Hoot Owl measures approximately 8.5 inches from the tip of Rutherford's tufted "horns" to his soft sweater bottom & is about 17 inches all the way around the widest part of his owlish body. Rutherford would stand up well to spot cleaning & handwashing when needed.
