See the Ocean Glow - Handspun and Handdyed Art Yarn that GLOWS in the Dark

Have you ever seen the ocean glow?
It's an experience you'll never forget. I was lucky to witness it (many years ago) and I'm still shuddering a bit when I think about it - it's very beautiful and slightly eerie. The white crestwaves seem to glow greenishly or blueishly, and occasionally there are tiny balls of electric blue that seem to be running over the surface of the water -- a phenomenon produced by marine invertebrates.

I have captured my memory of that stunning experience in this handspun yarn: by daylight you see it in colours of the ocean, in the dark it glows eerily.

This art yarn has been spun from hand dyed kid mohair fibre of turquoise, angelina (glittery fibre) and glow in the dark thread. I have spun the fibre around the thread, using the core spinning technique, which results in a wonderfully lofty and soft yarn with unique texture with a glow in the dark core (see last picture). Small sea snail shells have been spun in as well as clear, facetted glass beads.
