Tobacco Cloth
Description
This Tobacco cloth is a reproduction of a very old fabric. It is woven right here in Pennsylvania and has a lot of character. It is very soft, lightweight and loosely woven. Made from 100% cotton in a soft ash color. The weave is very similar to cheesecloth but a little bit tighter. In the days of old it was used for many things such as shafe covering for tobacco plants, crinolines, tea bags, bandages and curtains just to name a few.
I'm sure you will find many uses for it today in your primitive crafting. It will coffee/tea stain nicely but will shrink up a bit. Looks great tied over an old crock or mason jar. Tie up some soap bundles or wrap up your pantry cakes with it.
I have taken a picture with a piece of osnaburg fabric to show the difference in the weave.
This price is for a 1 yard bundle at 52" wide and comes tied up with a peice of homespun fabric and a Tobacco Cloth tag.
