Description

South Side Flowers is an original oil painting on canvas. The dimensions are 24 x 31 inches (61 x 79 cm) and 1.75 inches deep. It is wired and ready to hang.

The flowers, Black-Eyed Susans, are on a small wood table in front of my window in my studio in Chicago. Behind the flowers is a view of the never-ending gray rooftops and chimneys of the Pilsen neighborhood on the south side. While working in this studio I spent a lot of time gazing out this window, studying the light, studying the shapes, and from this view I produced many paintings. Just beyond those rooftops, if I positioned myself just so, I had a spectacular view of the skyline of Chicago and the Sears Tower.
