This satin glaze is a warm-toned light blue called Cornflower. The interior glaze is a glossy version of the same.

Elegant function for your morning oj or evening gin and tonic. Works well as a small vase too.

I threw this tumbler on the potter’s wheel and then used a stamp I designed and made to impress and alter the surface of the cup. My fingerprint is on the other side of each one of the stamps. I also decorate the top quarter of the cup (and sometimes areas in the stamp itself) with slip-trailing --the clay version of cake decorating. No molds are used!

The repetition and use of birds is influenced by Art Nouveau.

The undulation from the stamping and relief of the slip creates a wonderfully soft and tactile surface.

Elegant and intended for your use and enjoyment much like Grandma’s dishes, handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware. While durable and microwavable, hand washing is recommended. Do not pour boiling, stovetop water directly into handmade ware. “Pre-warming” pieces by filling with warm/hot tap water prior to pouring hot water for coffee or tea is recommended.

The clay and glazes are lead-free and food safe.
