I am very excited to share with you The Original BOOK-KEEPER with sewn-in plastic protector shields!

Readers of all ages now have an option to help carry and protect their individual books, comics and magazines unlike anything that has been available to date.

As avid readers, we noticed that our books were taking some abuse as we were constantly placing and removing them from various larger bags that also had lots of other `stuff' in them, taking them from room to room, even while traveling or commuting. My kids experience the same thing taking books to school.

The corners were starting to bend and premature wear and tear always started to take place. In an effort to prevent further damage from happening and the surprising lack of options available, we decided to create our own product. I sewed the first several bags myself on my kitchen table.

We wanted to design a bag to hold only a couple of books (versus a large carry-all bag) and a product that would also help to protect and prolong the life of books and a bag without bulk that would allow readers to carry books wherever they went AND still look good. And I think we've done it!

From a simple need to reality, this product is now called The Original BOOK-KEEPER. We have had a small quantity professionally made (with a company in Toronto, Canada in their China plant) and I personally hand apply securely the heat sealed appliqués or embellishments onto the front pocket. In addition to what you see here there are many other options. Feel free to contact me with your request and I'll see what I can do.


A Bit About The Original Book-Keeper:

Brand New, The Book-Keeper is designed to carry and protect books, magazines and comic books with unique sewn-in plastic protector shields. The front pocket has a heat-sealed embroidered snow owl (like Hedwig) on the handy front pocket of this black faux-suede bookbag. I really like this owl as his head is a bit fuzzy making him just that much more likable.

As you already know, The Original Book-Keeper is designed to help prevent books from common damage such as bent corners, folded pages and every day wear and tear as it carries one or two books at a time vs. a larger carry all bag that often shares space with your lunch, bottle of water, shoes and even other books! All of which will contribute to the damage of your books.

It is also unique due to the built-in plastic protector shields! Made with high quality faux-suede with the look and feel of real suede, you won't believe that it's not the real thing (can be hand washed). Made from quality fabric and fully lined it makes for a stylish accessory that helps to PROTECT your books when carrying during commutes, on holidays or just from room to room. It’s great on its own or dropped into a larger bag or suitcase. Great for kids too!
