~This is my all time favorite velvet ribbon!!

"The French velvet is a little different than normal stock, it is not so thick and stiff, so the edges can be a little bit more "wobbly". I would say that the French ribbon is more flexible easier to tie. That said there is nothing quite like velvet. With its lush soft texture and rich shimmery colors it's classy and sophisticated. A wonderful finish on everything from pillows to flower arrangements and scrapbook pages. Velvet can't help but want to be touched."

This classic ribbon is woven with a distinctive pile, usually on one side only. For this reason it looks best when used in very simple ways. The fabric, particularly fine silk velvets, should be treated with cares as the pile can be easily crushed from repeated tying and knotting. It's very smooth, has a soft texture, and good material for scrapbooking, and especially for sewing.
