Pumpkin Holiday Tea Candle

Description

This decorative Pumpkin Tea Candle is the perfect addition to your holiday decorations. Use it with the jack-o-lantern face to the front for Halloween, then turn them around to the back for Thanksgiving.

A heat-resistent plastic candle cup is the base of this cute little design. A blend of dark orange to yellow polymer clay is created using a technique called the Skinner Blend. This blend immitates the "pumpkin". Indents are made around the candle cup to make it look more pumpkiney. Then leaves and vines are added for that unique twist. Then as a final touch a whimsical face is added.

After the candle cup is cured, an acrylic antiquing glaze is added to enhance the details, then a dry brush of gold highlights the leaves and vines. A clear acrylic glaze is added to protect and bring out the richness of the colors. A tea candle fits nicely into the plastic candle cup and can be replaced quite easily when the candle burns out.
