144 grams Bamboo Yarn, 14-ply. Very soft, great for knitting, crochet, embroidery.

Description

This listing is for three skeins of premium 14-ply 100% bamboo yarn. Each skein weighs about 48 grams, for a total of approx. 144 grams (5+ ounces). Each skein is 95 - 100 yards. You get all three skeins for just $17.

This bamboo yarn is extremely soft, with a beautiful sheen. I recommend US 5 needles (3.75 mm). The plies have very little twist, and would be easy to separate if you want to use this yarn for embroidery. Prefer a different quantity or color mix? Convo me and I'll set up a listing for you. I also carry blue, purple, and black bamboo yarn, as well as an ivory bamboo tape yarn.

In the interest of full disclosure, unlike my recycled yarns, this bamboo yarn is not a fair trade item. In the past I have limited myself to fair trade organizations, but that prevented me from obtaining certain types of eco-friendly yarns whose processing requires machinery typically owned by large factories. I selected this particular Chinese factory because of their progressive attitude towards women. Most Chinese factories that I worked with in my prior career as a fashion designer were staffed largely by young Asian women who had no opportunity for career advancement; all management positions were held by men. The factory that produced this bamboo yarn has female executives.
