are you nuts - squirrels on tweed

Description

inspired by the coming autumn, i was thinking of tweeds, walking through the woods and everyone's favorite cartoony creatures- squirrels. i fell in love with a classy brown tweed wool yarn, and crocheted and fulled the body of the bag, all in one piece, for maximum toughness.
the interior of the purse features a small pouch made of brown wool, and the pouch and bag both fasten with a felted wool bead/button i made from some brown, green and gold roving.

and the squirrels themselves, as it would be impossible to leave them out (without vigorous chattering on their part!)- i needlefelted them securely onto the flap of the bag, in a blend of gold wool roving and this multicolored red/brown. their lush tails will be envied by squirrels near and wide.

:: 12 inches wide by about 8 inches tall and 2 or 3 inches thick (though tough, this felt has a bit of give). the strap hung across my shoulder makes the bag hit right above my hip. ::
