Connemara Pony, OOAK sculpture, dapple gray, horse figurine, FREE SHIPPING
Description
Connemaras are known as mountain and moorland ponies, whose ancestors have lived in Ireland for thousands of years. Originating in Connemara, County Galway, in western Ireland, its lineage has been enriched by Thoroughbred, Arabian and Spanish bloodlines. The Connemara Pony is kept hardy by its own environment, because it lives unprotected on rough pasture in harsh weather conditions, where only the strongest of the breed survive and thrive.Today, many Connemaras are gray in color, with a few having reddish manes and tails, like our little pony listed here. I’ve named him Aodhfin, Irish for “white fire.” He is sculpted from polymer clay over a hand formed wire armature, and stands 2 1/2” tall by 4 ½” long. No molds were used or made from this original piece of artwork, meaning he is - and will remain - one of a kind.
