Woolly Mammoth - Original Linocut Print - image size approx. 15x12cm (6x5 inches)

Ever since I was a little girl, growing up in Russia, Mammoths forever captured my imagination. I think we as humans must have a genetic fascination with these gentle woolly giants that once roamed the Northern plains of Russia, Canada and Alaska. Our ancestors saw them alive, and drew them on cave walls - so I followed in their footsteps and carved one out of linoleum, and made prints!

As a member of Etsy For Animals team, I also believe that we as humans have a responsibility to the Mammoths' living relatives, the beautiful Elephants. This is not a limited edition print, because I will donate $10 from sales of each of these prints to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, where they rescue and raise orphaned baby Elephants and Rhinos. This original design is a one-of-a-kind hand-pulled print. First I carved the design in a block of artists' linoleum by hand, then created the print using water-based ink, applied to 190gsm acid-free watercolour paper. No two prints are exactly the same.

SIZE OF OVERALL PAPER: 20 x 25cm (8 x 10 inches) - plenty of room to frame your print however you wish!

Each print is personally signed in pencil by the artist.

It will be shipped to you flat, protected by a clear plastic sleeve, carefully sandwiched between two sturdy pieces of recycled cardboard (I try to be as 'green' as I can) in an envelope.
