AUTUMN SUNRISE Earflap Hat

Description

Warm, vibrant oranges, rich golds and creams contrast with lovely muted greys and blues- tonally both light and deep. Complex multicolored entarsia crochet in this delightful earflap hat's crown is reminiscent of light streaming across the sky as dawn breaks.

This earflap hat should delight its wearer with not only its beautiful design and colors, but it is also exquisitely soft and fuzzy. This piece of wearable art headgear also features little touches of glitz. A deep widow's peak at the forehead, accents the entarsia design and adds a touch of glamour.

Autumn Sunrise was designed to most comfortably cuddle up to a medium-to-large sized adult’s cranium of between 21.5"/55cm and 23.5"/60cm" in circumference. There is plenty of room in the crown if the wearer chooses to tuck their hair up. This is a fabulous hat for bad hair days!

The extra-long sculptural tail, with its many spheroids, measures 60"/152cm overall. The tail's hand-twisted fall is 4"/10cm in length and ends in a luxuriantly thick tassel of 8"/20cm in length. Matching fuzzy tassels of 8"/20cm complete the 8"/20cm long handtwisted earflap ties.

Being strongly constructed by myself using freeform crochet techniques and no patterns, this unique hat should give its owner long, cosy wear. The yarns used in this hat are a truly eclectic mix, including pure Australian wool, mohair, beautiful Moda Vera yarns, synthetics and natural/synthetic combinations. Because the Autumn Sunrise hat includes natural fibres, I recommend gentle washing in lukewarm water and no tumble-drying.
