This painting is one a a new series of small works on paper focusing on colour in landscape- essences or distillations of colours. I find colour inspiration in the rural environment, in the elemental and seasonal signs of erosion or gradual deterioration, crumbling walls, encrusted patinas on boats, worn facades, aged surfaces, textural striations, natural structures exposed to the elements.
