Raku Lidded Container Brilliant Copper Blue Magenta Bronze and Golden Crackle Glaze
Description
This jar or lidded container is 6 1/4 inches in diameter and just over 4 inches tall. The lid fits perfectly.I made it on a potter's wheel and then Raku fired it in the American Raku method. Pottery is removed from the kiln while still red hot and put in a bed of combustible materials to smoke which results in spectacular colors and design. Even the very bottom of the container is glazed.
It would be a perfect for keeping the jewelry that you take off at bedtime, especially if you have pesky kitties that like to play with your stuff....
Raku pottery is low-fired ware, porous, and will NOT hold water. It is intended to be mainly decorative
It has my mark, a kitty paw print on the side and my signature and the year it was made on the bottom.
