Lichen for your Wall 10, (5 inch)

This lichen is inspired by the kind I used to find on the rocks where I grew-up in California.

This lightweight piece consists of a 5 inch vintage Duchess wooden embroidery hoop (oh, the quality and made in the USA) with a medium gray kona cotton fabric. I then embroidered french knots in four colors onto the fabric: a greenish gray, yellow, chartreuse, and a bright spice red. The french knots are small and large, tight and loose for a subtle difference in texture. After completing the embroidery, I securely glued the fabric to the inside of the hoop with craft glue.

With this embroidery hoop, the piece can be hung in any direction (however there is a maker stamp on the outside of the ring), I made the piece and photographed it with the stamp on the bottom.

Since this piece is small and intimate, I think it would be lovely in a reading nook, next to a work area or in a group.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS PIECE IS MADE WITH KONA COTTON, A DIFFERENT BUT SIMILAR FABRIC TO THE FABRIC I HAD BEEN USING.
