Lightweight and breezy this 8mm Habotai "China Silk' scarf with a light sheen is a dsign inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe by enlarging the dogwood flower so large that it runs off the scarf and becomes abstract in form. Colored with hues of red, pink and purple this scarf would look wonderful with a simple black dress or jeans. This scarf measures approximately 14” x 72” with hand-rolled hems that are sewn with 100% silk thread.

Silk scarves are fun and versatile to wear. Whether you wear them for an evening out on the town or with your favorite pair of jeans, they add to any outfit. I create each scarf using the serti method (serti means ‘to fence in’) by applying a resist f either gutta or wax onto the fabric. The fabric is painted with fiber reactive Procion dyes that are steam fixed for brilliance and permanence. Each scarf is an original, hand painted, signed piece of wearable art. No two scarves are alike.

Care for a silk scarf is very easy. Hand washing with a mild soap and rinsing with a fabric softener or hair conditioner. Complete care instructions will be included with each boxed scarf.

Whether you wear this scarf the traditional way, as a headband, or as a belt, have fun, the possibilities are endless, just use your imagination!
