Berries and Wine 3-ply Sock Yarn (92 yards)

Description

For years I had a few pounds of bright purple superwash wool sitting in my spinning stash. "Hellchick," I said to myself, "what are you actually going to DO with this?"

When I got my new blending hackle I poured through my stash looking for cool stuff to blend. I had some lovely burgundy wine-colored alpaca fiber that I had just dyed from my own alpaca, Cinnamon, and I had some beautiful purple soy silk I had also just recently dyed. When I saw the bag of purple superwash that was just the right color to blend I thought, wonderful!

I blended the fibers myself and then re-blended them to get the color just right. Then I handspun it and voila! A beautiful 3-ply sock yarn emerged!

Gauge: Sport/sock weight, 3-ply
Recommended needle size: 5-6 US
Yardage: 92 yards

The blend of superwash (doesn't felt) with soy silk and alpaca (adds softness and luster) makes this yarn shine.
Handspun yarns are set apart from millspun yarns by their unique characteristics.
