'Omiyage' such as this are also meant as a fabric 'gift wrapping'. In Japan, the presentation of a gift is just as important as the gift.

These were originally made from kimono silk scraps. Mine are made of 100% high quality quilting cotton fabric. The pattern I use is an interpretation of an old Japanese pattern from the Japan Toy Museum in Kodera-cho.

Like their older brethren, the Sock Bugs, these are made with high quality 100% cotton fabric, hand and machine sewn. Fully lined, they are about 3.5" wide and about 5" deep.

(Still babies, Baby Bugs haven't developed the pocket or strap that the grown-up Sock Bugs have...)
