30% off original $20 (already discounted), ends FRIDAY Nov 20!A pair of abstract leaf motifs hand embroidered by my Mother in deep burgundy floss on soft gray linen. Perhaps unassuming by themselves, the shiny ornate frames add a punch and meaning to the pieces.
The two motifs are elements of traditional folk embroidery of Kaszuby (Kassubia) region or northern Poland. More information about the region: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashubians
I backed the fabric with acid free watercolor paper, and placed them in acrylic, victorian looking easelback frames. With frame, each is 3.5 in (9 cm) square.
