kinetic ruby ring - two settings

Description

This ring features two beautiful deep pink lab-grown rubies. The tube settings for the stones are secured to the ring shank by loops at the back. This means that the stones move freely around the ring rather than being fixed in place.

I made one of these rings for myself some time ago and love wearing it and feeling the stones move as I do.

The settings and ring are handmade from sterling silver. The ring had been given an organic-looking hammer-beaten finish.

Lab-grown gemstones are identical on a molecular level to their natural counterparts, but they are flawless and beautifully coloured, while also being low in cost. Importantly, they also have a very low environmental impact and none of the ethical issues that natural gemstones can have.

The ring shank is approximately 2mm (0.08") wide. The larger setting is 7mm (0.3") in diameter, while the smaller one is approximately 5.5mm (0.22").
