Pacifica earrings
Description
Made from sterling silver sheet, these stylized tapa flowers have an operculum shell at their center. An operculum is a spiral shell on the foot of a sea mollusk that protects the animal from predators. When the animal is under attack it basically pulls into it's shell and pulls the 'trap door' shut so no soft parts are exposed. These earrings measure 7/8 inches square and hang 1 and 3/8 inches from the top of the earwire.They are part of the Lonely Bay Series and made with shells picked up from the beach of Lonely Bay in New Zealand.
