oh sweet- vintage candy container

This is a wonderful handpainted vintage container...Makes me sing...."the candyman can....cuz he mixes it with love and makes the world go round"....
Doesn't this look like one of those memorable and cherished objects a grandmother would have filled with treats? and if you were really, really, especially good, you would be able to have one? Ahhhh...We got to pick pennies out of our nana's jar. I, myself, cherish the memory but think a chocolate kiss would have been NICE!
This was made in Japan. It has a teenie weenie chip (the size of the tip of a pencil) on one side but not terribly noticeable. Would make a special gift! Filled with tootsies? kisses? or homemade yummies.
