Blossoms in Black and White - linear polymer and silver earrings
Description
One of my favorite motifs in my black and white series. An Asian inspired cherry blossom design is transferred to polymer clay. My technique entails crackling the transferred pigments to resemble the crazing found in old porcelain. it also softens the black ink to a black with gray and indigo nuances. The silver rivet adds a nice finishing touch! The backs are textured charcoal gray polymer.The earrings hang a total of 2 inches from the top of the handmade sterling earwires (20 gauge). They are extremely light and comfortable - you don't even know you're wearing earrings!
