Absorbent Coasters - Set of 4 - Black Iris

While working, I would sip ice water from one of my favorite big mugs all day long. I used to use a paper towel folded under my mug to keep a puddle from forming on my desk. Not a good solution to problem and not very nice looking either.

These coasters are my solution to that problem and they work so well!!! No puddles to damage furniture or get papers wet. No coaster sticking to the glass to drop off just as you lift the glass to your lips to take a drink.

The textured, unglazed side of the coaster is for cold drinks and will absorb all condensation that runs down your glass. You won't see a drop of water on the coaster. The glazed side is good for hot drinks so you don't get coffee or tea rings on your furniture.

The glaze on these coasters is a beautiful crystalline glaze called Black Iris. This particular glaze is a sophisticated combination of black with small speckles of rust and tan. The coasters measure approximately 4 1/4 inches in diameter. The textured side is unfinished white clay with a deep texture created with wooden texture stamps. All of my coasters are cut and textured by hand and are fired at least twice in my kiln.

These coasters would also make wonderful trays to go under round candles.
